At 26, Alyssa was shocked when two routine Pap smears came back abnormal. A follow-up cervical biopsy showed cervical intraepithelial dysplasia, which she describes as precancerous cellular changes at stage two to three.
Her gynecologist recommended an invasive procedure to remove the abnormal cervical tissue. Alyssa was concerned about the procedure, the possibility of needing it more than once, and potential implications for future fertility. She says she was not offered another approach and began looking for alternatives.
That search eventually led her to Dr. Alex Heyne and Traditional Chinese Medicine. Alyssa initially had doubts about whether Chinese herbal medicine could make a difference, especially coming from a family with a strong background in Western medicine. However, she decided to try individualized Chinese herbal treatment while continuing to monitor her health with her medical providers.
Alongside her concerns about cervical dysplasia, Alyssa was experiencing digestive discomfort, food sensitivities, bloating, fatigue, seasonal allergies, painful menstrual cramps, acid reflux, and difficulty sleeping after eating.
She began taking a customized herbal formula twice a day and says she noticed changes within two to three weeks, including better sleep, easier breathing, improved nasal congestion, and significantly lighter menstrual cramps. She says many of her digestive symptoms and food sensitivities improved within the first month.
The most significant part of Alyssa’s story came approximately five months after beginning care. A follow-up test showed no evidence of cervical dysplasia. She recalls being emotional when she received the results and says her gynecologist was surprised by the outcome.
Alyssa continued with routine follow-up rather than the more frequent procedures that had previously been planned. She shares her experience to encourage other women to educate themselves, ask questions, and understand that there may be different approaches worth discussing with qualified healthcare providers.
